Karl Haider

Karl Haider was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of Semperit AG Holding effective 11 January 2022. As such, he is tasked with managing the Business Regions and sales for the company’s Industry and Medicine segments. He is also responsible for Corporate Development, Customer Excellence, Brand Management and the Restructuring Office.

Mr Haider studied technical chemistry and economics, obtaining a doctorate in technical chemistry at Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria.

As a recognised industrial expert and highly qualified executive, Mr Haider amassed comprehensive experience by working at major international industrial groups.
Most recently, he served as Chief Commercial Officer at Tata Steel Europe, one of the world’s largest steel companies. In this position, he was responsible for major M&A transactions, among other things, and also served as Director Operations Downstream. Prior to working for Tata, Mr Haider had risen to the position of Management Board member responsible for the Steel Division of the voestalpine Group, after working in sales and project management for that company. In his previous positions, he also served on numerous supervisory boards at the respective company’s subsidiaries. He began his career as a chemical lab technician.

Karl Haider was born in 1965 in Freistadt, Austria. He is married and the father of one son and one daughter.
