Sempermed® Focuses on Skin Tolerance at MEDICA 2013
Vienna/Düsseldorf, November 15, 2013 – Sempermed, one of the world’s leading producers of medical gloves, is dedicating its presence at this year’s MEDICA, the leading international trade fair for medicine and medical technology (November 20-23, 2013), to the issue of skin tolerance. In addition to the award-winning surgical glove Sempermed® Syntegra UV, Sempermed is also presenting its new examination glove Sempercare® pure.
Sempercare® pure – the new production process enhances skin compatibility
Sempercare® pure is the particularly “pure” complement to the Sempercare® portfolio. Potentially allergenic substances (e.g. latex proteins and accelerators) are almost completely removed in a special production step used for this new type of examination glove. This takes place on the basis of a specially developed washing process (MPXX™ technology) which is carried out directly following the immersion process. As a result, latex proteins1 and chemical residues2 can be reduced to an immeasurable minimum. For this reason, Sempercare® pure is particularly suited for people with sensitive skin. The new examination glove also impresses users due to its high level of elasticity and good grip.
Sempermed® Syntegra UV – the award-winning surgical glove
A further highlight at Sempermed’s trade fair stand is the Sempermed® Syntegra UV. Thanks to this product innovation, Sempermed became the first manufacturer worldwide to develop a surgical glove using the material polyisoprene, which is similar to natural latex, and that is interlinked by UV light instead of chemical accelerators that trigger allergies. The unique feature of Sempermed® Syntegra UV is that it is completely free of latex and accelerators yet offers the high wearing comfort of a latex glove. In this way Sempermed® Syntegra UV fulfills the special needs of people who suffer from type I allergies (latex intolerance) as well as allergies triggered by accelerators used in the production process (type IV allergy). The glove material feels the same as natural latex with respect to tactile sensitivity and suppleness. The production process is patented.
