Semperit launches M&A activities with company acquisition in the facade construction sector

• Contract signed to take over M&R Dichtungstechnik GmbH, based in Seligenstadt/Germany
• Closing already planned for January 2021 

Vienna, Austria, 16 December 2020 — The Semperit Group will take over M&R Dichtungstechnik GmbH, a manufacturer of profiles for facade construction based in Seligenstadt near Frankfurt am Main/Germany. The corresponding contracts were signed today, Wednesday. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

“Following far-reaching and successful restructuring, we are embarking on a first small acquisition step as part of our focus on industrial rubber, which closes a gap in our portfolio and thus represents an important step for our core business segment Profiles,” says Martin Füllenbach, CEO of Semperit AG Holding. “Our industrial strategy focuses on both a higher degree of customer proximity and increasingly inorganic growth. As a full-range supplier, we generate greater added value for our customers together with M&R Dichtungstechnik GmbH and develop towards a ‘one stop shop’.”

Under the umbrella of the Semperit Group, which is taking over a 51% share, the previously owner-managed M&R Dichtungstechnik GmbH will be continued with a clear focus on its given strengths and integrated into the Semperseal segment within the next twelve months. The previous sole owner will remain on board as managing director. Founded in 1995, the company employs 25 people and generated revenue of around EUR 8 million in 2019.
